Most of us obey traffic rules when we are on the road to prevent accidents with other vehicles. However, how often do we follow rules of communication to avoid verbal accidents in our workplaces or homes?
Each of us in this world is unique and have a unique path in our life. We are all travelling to different destinations. What will happen, when we don’t pay attention to our own thoughts which are the signals from the outside world, ignore them and move on. We end up in a collision. We all go through good and bad thoughts in our everyday life. It’s only when we become aware of our thoughts as we would at a traffic signal that we will be able to act consciously without causing harm to us or others around us.
How many of you play tug of war in your daily life ?
Tug of war is a contest in which two teams pull at opposite ends of a rope until one drags the other over a central line.
We may not be playing this game physically with the people around us . However mentally we all go through a tug of war with different kinds of people around us. Sometimes it is between nations, sometimes it is between religions, sometimes it is between different beliefs. Most often these kinds of tug of wars which are usually for power, position , wealth or fame impacts our lives negatively causing pain and suffering.
We deal with conflicts everyday in our life. Conflicts can be constructive or destructive. Be it school, workplace, home or even outdoors. We may not be able to solve all the conflicts in the world. However, is there a solution to resolve conflicts that happen in our daily lives?
Has Overthinking prevented you from achieving your goals and finding peace in your life?
Overthinking is overburdening ourselves with thoughts that arise from our own imagination that are beyond our control in the present. The accuracy of the predictions that we make from them may not be helpful for us in our current situation in life.
In this state of mind we tend to get stuck in our own thinking that is based on strong beliefs and conditioning. This prevents us from taking healthy risks in our life and also leads us to a place of disappointment eventually.
Overthinking arises from fear of threat or danger that can affect us . Chronic overthinking develops into mental health issues that include anxiety and depression.
Have you been tired of relying on external resources to motivate you?
Most of us in our life look for external sources of motivation in the form of books, podcasts and people. While they do help getting us motivated, it does not replace self motivation to keep us going until we achieve our goals in life. When we perform our everyday tasks lacking motivation, our work becomes uninteresting and does not help us grow.
Self motivation has lots of benefits . Some of them include promote positive attitude, improve our self esteem, self resilience, independence ,freedom, courage inner contentment.
Do you have an inner voice in your head that holds you back and prevents you from achieving your goals?
All that we think, is not true. The inner critic or the negative voice that chatters to us often drowns us into misery or sorrow. It is hard to recognize them as they arise from our own past experiences and limited beliefs. When left unresolved, it impacts our mental health adversely causing overthinking, self doubt, depression and anxiety.These negative voices are unreal and causes noises inside our own mind distracting us from achieving our true potential in life.
In life, we encounter different types of people and situations. Some people in our life help us learn and grow. Some others drain our energy and suck us into a place of negativity. The negative energy that could be verbal or non-verbal can impact our mindset and can sometimes even paralyze us from moving forward in our life. The negative emotions caused by negative social interactions can make us feel lost and unhappy.
How do we regain our energy to move forward in our life?
One of the most effective ways to regain our energy is by self-regulating our thoughts and emotions. By training our mind, we can elevate ourselves to a centered state that remains unaffected internally irrespective of our external situations in life.
